What It Does

Backs up and restores Server Greoup and Application Properties info to the file system and effects a Host Name change throughout the Remedy forms referencing the host name. Also does an ad-hoc delete of email data. Run twice for different midtier servers.

What It Shows

  • How to use AssignInit= to check arguments and a [Do] with conditional Launchs to run selected function's section
  • How to use File= and Output= to read and write CSVs
  • How a bunch of updates to different forms are as easy as a bunch of Launched sections
  • How to use Query= to issue an ARS Query and an Update= to update the queried record
  • How to use Substitution in assignments

Details

This script combines some of the ideas of beginner scripts together in the Launched sections.

It uses an AssignInit= to validate the arguments. [Do], then Launches the section for the function.

-bkp  [Do-bkp] Backup the Server Group configuration and Application Properties tables.
-rst  [Do-rst] Restore from above backup files.
-chg  [Do-chg] Effect all the server name changes in the forms.
-del  [Do-del] Ad-hoc delete of all data in Email forms using Application-Query-Delete-Entry.
