Meta-Update's features give you a simple, powerful, way
to script automated data operations and value transformations.
- Iteration
- Iterate through an ARS or SQL Query, a CSV or other file,
a parsed, delimited string such as a permission list, a diary field's contents.
- Process CSV Files
- Process CSV files containing values with embedded new-lines or quotes.
Process Fixed length transactional files or other ASCII files.
- Read from multiple servers
- Meta-Update can make connections to multiple servers
and load data or process queries from any of them.
- Launch
- Launch other nested Queries to follow chains of related records.
- Conditional Output
- Any output or launch can be made conditional.
Redundant updates are skipped.
Output form names and queries can be assigned variables.
- Interpret Values
- Values from CSV or SQL columns may be interpreted into ARS types.
For example, a Status History date value can be assigned to a date field.
- Use Variables
- Use variables in your assignments, conditionals, or Queries.
- Save Attachments
- Attachments can be saved to disk under any file name or
transferred by references.
